About Chong H. Ye
Chong H. Ye is a personal injury trial lawyer based in Federal Way, Washington, with offices throughout the Puget Sound region. He has dedicated his career to helping individuals and families throughout the Puget Sound secure the compensation they need to recover from serious accidents.
For Chong, practicing personal injury law was never just about building a career. It was about changing how people like his parents are treated when they need legal help.
From Pastor to Personal Injury Lawyer
Before law school, Chong spent nearly a decade in ministry, serving as a pastor to second-generation Korean-American Christians in Tacoma. He taught, counseled, and walked alongside families through some of their most difficult times.
But it was his own family's experience that ultimately led him to law.
Growing up in Tacoma's immigrant community, Chong watched how law firms mistreated and ignored his own parents once they signed the fee agreement. The language barrier made everything more difficult. Attorneys would sign them up, then forget about them.
His parents didn't know how the legal system worked, didn't know their rights, and didn't have anyone in their corner who truly understood what they were going through.
That stuck with him. And eventually, it changed the direction of his life.
Why He Serves Immigrant and Underserved Communities
Chong went to law school with a specific purpose: to become the kind of attorney his parents never had. Someone who speaks the language, whether in English, Korean, or Spanish. A lawyer who doesn't disappear after the retainer is signed. An advocate who takes the time to get to know his clients and explain the process to them in a way they can understand.
He founded The Ye Law Firm Injury Lawyers to serve people who feel overlooked by the legal system, whether because of a language barrier, unfamiliarity with how insurance claims work, or past experiences that left them feeling dismissed.
His faith remains central to how he practices. Chong's goal has always been to incorporate his Christian values into his work: honesty, compassion, and genuine care for the people he represents.
His Mission: Help You Focus on Healing
Chong's approach is simple. When you're recovering from a serious injury, you shouldn't have to fight insurance companies on your own. You should be focused on treatment, on getting better, and on your family.
From the first phone call through negotiations, mediation, and, if necessary, trial, Chong advocates aggressively to ensure insurance companies don't take advantage of his clients. He pursues full and fair compensation for the harm they have suffered, and he's prepared to take cases to court when insurance companies refuse to settle fairly.
In addition to his Federal Way home office, Ye Law Firm maintains office locations in Tacoma, Bellevue, and Lakewood.
Chong knows how much his clients have at stake. Representing them and fighting for their interests is a task he takes to heart.
Outside the Office
Chong has been married to his wife, Jae-Eun, since 2001. They have two daughters and live in Northeast Tacoma. Jae also works at the firm as the firm manager, making The Ye Law Firm a true family practice.
Community involvement remains important to Chong. He's a member of Lifeway Church in Federal Way and serves on the board of Nest Mission, a nonprofit homeless ministry. He's also active in the Korean American Bar Association of Washington, the Korean-American Chamber of Commerce, and the Korean American Coalition-WA.
