Location: SB I-5 south of Portland Ave
Our client was a passenger in the backseat of a car traveling through an active construction zone southbound on I-5 in lane 2 of 3 just south of Portland Ave.
The at-fault driver was traveling behind our client in lane 2 of 3. The at-fault driver was traveling at a high rate of speed and struck the rear right of the car, which our client was seated in the backseat.
Due to the impact of the collision, our client was pronounced dead at scene of the collision. She was later transported to St. Joseph Hospital via ambulance where her cause of death was noted as multiple blunt force injuries.
We secured a total settlement amount of $329,993.00, which included the at-fault driver‘s minimal policy limits, and they tendered immediately. Her underinsured motorist insurance company tendered $300,000.00 limits and a PIP waiver.
